The Gleason score represents the pathologic interpretation of the tissue on the biopsy slides. The score range is from 2-10 with the majority of patients having a Gleason score 6. While the Gleason score has been identified as one of the most powerful risk factors to predict outcome, additional information from the biopsy slides may also be important.
